EARLY ARTS

The Early Arts program focuses on the development of the arts and early literacy in infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and early primary grade children. Through the BCA education program, Head Start, and various other partnerships with community organizations, Burlington City Arts works to incorporate the arts into the curriculum by bringing professional artists to the classroom setting. These teaching artists approach the concept of literacy by combining lessons in visual arts, music, dance, and drama. BCA’s Early Arts Program is sponsored by the Vermont Arts Council, Champlain Valley Head Start, The Turrell Fund, and the Dewing Foundation.

For more information, please contact our Early Arts Coordinator Jude Bond.

Early Arts See.Think.Do! Gallery Education and Curriculum

Thanks to funding from The Turrell Fund and The Dewing Foundation, our Early Arts Coordinator, Jude Bond will be posting gallery education guides and curriculum for follow up projects for some of BCA Center shows on the website. These educational tools are geared to preschool aged children and could be used by parents, day care providers, and preschool teachers. They are also adaptable to children in the early primary grades. Just click the links in Related Information  below to download Gallery Guides and Curriculum.
