Cate is a native of sunny Florida and an alumni of snowy École de Cirque de Québec. She’s been lavished all kinds of praise and won all kinds of awards, including the title of 2011 IJA Busking Champion, (which everyone agrees sounds pretty impressive), and is just pretty darn great in a general sort of way.

 Galumpha 2013

Galumpha - from Binghamton, New York

Combining stunning acrobatics, striking visual effects, physical comedy and inventive choreography, Galumpha brings to life a world of imagination, beauty, muscle and merriment. The three performers create a sensory feast of images ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime, drawn together into a seamless whole, consistently bringing audiences to their feet. Galumpha is a triumphant mix of art and entertainment, offering world-class, award winning choreography (Edinburgh Festival Critics, Choice Award, Moers International Comedy Arts Prize) that is equally at home on the concert stage, at a comedy club or at an outdoor festival.

Formed in 2002 by Andy Horowitz and Greg O'Brien, Galumpha delivers a fast-paced, athletic brand of movement, distinctive for its ingenuity. Highlights include "Velcro" as seen on The Late Show with David Letterman, Crook and Chase (TNN) and the 2002 MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon, and "Clackers," seen on MTV, Showtime, A & E, Just for Laughs in Montreal, and by over one billion television viewers around the globe. Other pieces feature experiments in human architecture set to music by Rachmaninov, Mahler and the virtuoso Czech band Jablkon, making for an exceptionally entertaining program.

Hilby German 2013

Hilby the Skinny German Juggling Boy - from Germany

Best described as a show without boundaries, Hilby is the living proof that being German doesn’t mean you can not be funny. While being an expert in juggling all sorts of objects and subjects as well as countless circus and variety skills (such as Unicycling, ropewalking, unsupported ladder, fire manipulations and eating, balancing stunts and the list goes on and on), he really gets his audience involved and creates magical and hilarious moments through their participation. Watch out for catapults, marshmallows, lots of velcro and the bowling-ball of terror. Hilby has training in modern dance and mime and his body is as expressive as the spoken words he speaks. Poetry in motion, a fusion of an epeleptik fit, and .... Yes all that and more..... the long and short of it is that you will love this Skinny German Juggling Boy!

Hokum Bros 2013

The Hokum Brothers - from Vermont

Their songs are catchy and integrated with humor, while their style of play is multifarious. Their lyrics speak of true-life experiences with a thread of the earliest cultural fabric we call Americana. Rare and original, The Hokum Bros. sing and patter their way into inspired silliness and offer enough sly satire and social commentary to insure you'll be wearing your happy face long after the show is over.

Nigel Blackstorm 2

Nigel Blackstorm - from UK

Nigel Blackstorm was raised in a small town in the south of England called New Jersey. As a youth he focused on his two passions: heavy metal and magic.

As is the case with us all, Nigel grew to adulthood and was confronted with choosing his career path. Nigel decided to devote his life to both his arts, founding the magical heavy metal cover band, Lordz of Illuzzion.

In 1998, following a sold out performance at the world famous Orange County Fair, the other three Lordz abruptly quit the band. Nigel was devastated by this surprising and untimely break-up. Driven by rage and passion and channeling the spirits of Houdini and Ozzy Osbourne, he put the pieces of his life back together and thus emerged The Heavy Metal Magician. With the skills of an alchemist, Nigel blended heavy metal music and the world of magic, creating the unique genre: "Heavy Magic." Be prepared to have your mind blown, and ladies: please control yourselves.

In this one-of-a-kind stunt comedy show, they combine all the elements of a spy thriller with some rocking circus spectacle. Equipped with a 7-foot stealthcycle, a bow and plunger-arrow, and an arsenal of deadly-serious juggling tools, nothing can stop these two agents on their mission to entertain.

Stephen Gratto

Stephen Gratto and the Gratto Family Jugglers - from New York

Stephen Gratto is not your typical street performer. High school physics teacher and Principal by day, Stephen moonlights as a physical comedian and much much more. His performances are fast-paced and exciting displays of many classic vaudeville and circus skills including juggling, unicycling, rope walking, object balancing, and many other feats of daring, bravery, and side-splitting foolishness.
The high point of each performance is invariably the audience participation. Almost every portion of the Stephen Gratto Variety Show involves audience volunteers, both young and old. This continual interaction keeps everyone involved and laughing. Stephen is truly a jack of all trades and a master of many.
Stephen is now joined in his show by his three sons, Schuyler (age 15), Gabriel (age 12), and Christian (age 8). They have become a true "family circus" creating an act "of the family, by the family, and for the family".

Vermont Joy Parade 2013

The Vermont Joy Parade is a seven piece ensemble featuring banjo, trumpet, accordion/piano, guitar, upright bass and drums/percussion, playing a fervent and eclectic blend of Americana, indie-rock, old-time, country blues, dixieland, Cajun, jug, and klezmer known as "all-time music" or "suspender fusion". Their alchemical blend of alternately rambunctious and soulful tunes has been received with enthusiasm by people from all walks of life all over America and Europe.
Since 2008, they've conducted five critically acclaimed national American tours on their waste vegetable oil powered buses and two buzz worthy tours of Central Europe with a documentary film maker. Some of their notable performances include Bonnaroo Music Festival (Tennessee 2009), Brooklyn's notorious Danger Parties (New York 2010), Discover Jazz Festival (Vermont 2011), Frankfurt's famous Festhalle (Germany 2011), Köln's Lanxess Arena (Germany 2011) and Antwerp's Lotto Arena (Belgium 2011) for audiences of up to 14,000. The Vermont Joy Parade toured extensively in support of their second album New Anthem in 2012 and established themselves as the most exciting spectacle on the Northeast touring circuit.
The full length documentary film, Vermont Joy Parade: The Clock Tick and the Heartbeat, is premiering at the 2013 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival with the subsequent release in time for their Summer tour.
Wherever they go, it would seem, The Vermont Joy Parade cannot be stopped from making joy, merriment, and the most voluble and exciting music anyplace West of anyplace East. Their vibrant original tunes in addition to their repertoire of rare and popular old-time gems, as well as their endless and incorrigible vaudevillian stage antics make them a show not to be missed. Long live the circus. Long live joy!
