Amy Hannum, PaintDragon, is a multi-discipline artist best known for abstract imagery and use of vivid hues. Her work confronts the ways in which we navigate our world and the relationships we build with each other, our universe, and ourselves. She is deeply inspired by the shared human experience. In a by-any-means-possible approach to art she constructs temporal and physiological landscapes with which to draw the viewer in and elicit emotional understanding. Materials include encaustic, plaster, metal, wood, song, spider webs, performance, and more. Hannum studied at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and the Rhode Island School of Design, received an Associate in Business with Studies in Interior Design from Delta College and a Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College in Architectural Studies and Sculptural Art. Hannum has over twenty years of design experience and is the owner of PaintDragon Design, a visual design service based in New London, CT.
