Water has always been a source of comfort. I love to watch it adapt itself to the land, becoming an ever changing gift full of suprises. My journey as a painter explores the flow between spirit, energy and the natural beauty in the waters that surround me. I hope to give life to the spiritual essence of clean water through observation, meditation and painting. Often a neglected resource, water needs our protection. Through painting in solitude, I've discovered that the rivers and lakes begin to communicate. For me, this practice in painting has fostered a mystical connection to my surroundings. It is then that I can show gratitude to the spirit of the river and the soul of
the mountain. The process of painting in nature is like planting a seed to flourish and celebrate our natural world. Working on small canvas allows a simple process to unfold in the original setting and then be easily transported through woodland trails or by kayak. As my life goals are changing to live simply and fully aware of nature, this form of painting has been a healing experience.
