Long fascinated by abstract and impressionist work, John creates paintings to express form, mood, and emotion. His goal is to engage the viewer while challenging their expectations about meaning, form, and symbolism in art. Also important to John, is his desire for the viewer to know the story of the creation of his work. The artistic process is the part of a finished work that is most directly supported by the collector. With each piece, John hopes to deliver a story about its inspiration, creation, and expression. john has been working in a small studio on Pine Street in Burlington since 2008. John received a Bachelor's degree with Honors from the University of Massachusetts in 1986. A California native, John has lived in Vermont for almost ten years. Working out of a small studio on Pine Street in Burlington, he has created music and art, including a CD release in 2007 and a broad array of paintings and mixed media sculptures. In addition to art and music, John is a cook and gardener and enjoys remodeling his 1899 home.
