Alex2e at BCA Summer Concert Series

July 12, 2019, 12:30PM - 1:30PM

Burlington City Arts' Summer Concert Series presented by VSECU features the Alex2e on July 12.

Alex2e (actual name Alex Tuohey) is a self-taught singer/songwriter from Western Massachusetts. More importantly, Alex2e is a storyteller. In 2012, while recovering from major surgery and desperate for a reprieve, he picked up his sister's beat up guitar and started writing. Words became lyrics, days became months and bathroom video covers turned into gigs. Fast forward to today and his leaps can be measured in dog years.

Called "One of Boston's most sought after artists" by Berklee's Red Room, Alex has made a name for himself both in his home state and beyond. Averaging 130+ dates annually, he has traveled the country while supporting national acts such as Howie Day, Tyler Hilton, O-Town, Griffin House, Aaron Carter, Casey Abrams, and Zac Brown Band alum Levi Lowrey, among others. With a debut EP in the top 10 of iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and new release "Half-Grown" gaining regional momentum, he continues to prove - it's never too late to find your passion.

Burlington City Arts' annual summer concert series presented by VSECU kicks off on June 12. All are welcome to enjoy 22 free concerts, this year on lower Church Street near City Hall. The series takes place on Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:30 p.m. from June 12 to August 28. We've programmed a line-up that features both our local favorites and some from further afield that may be new to you. It's an excellent opportunity to listen to new music, have lunch with a friend or co-worker or enjoy being outside with your community, supporting live music.

As of May 1, sponsors include VSECU, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Dubois & King, Church Street Marketplace, NBC 5, 104.7 The Point, and Seven Days.
