Think Big - Build Small: Scale Model Workshop with Kirsten Reynolds
BCA Center, 4th Floor Studio

REGISTRATION COMING SOON

$75, Fee includes materials.

Explore scale model-making with artist and educator Kirsten Reynolds whose abstract sculptural installation Spillover is featured in BCA Center’s exhibition Unbound. Scale models are an invaluable tool for artists and designers to visualize ideas for three-dimensional art. In this half-day workshop at the BCA Center, students will learn to create their own scale model of an installation or sculpture using readily available materials such as paper, foam-core, and wood. The finished scale models will be photographed in a miniaturized indoor and outdoor environment to further explore how the installation or sculpture will transform the site and engage the audience. Throughout the workshop, Reynolds will share examples of how she and other artists and designers use scale models in their creative process and project proposals. Students will have the opportunity to explore Reynolds’ large-scale installation in the first-floor gallery. Ages 18+ (Max 8 participants)
