Jena Necrason is a performer, educator, director, and collaborative theatre maker. She is Co-founder and Artistic Director of Vermont Shakespeare Festival, which she founded with her husband in 2005. From 1997-2016 Jena was on faculty at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, teaching Movement for Actors, Physical Acting and Devising for the Professional Conservatory and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Drama Department. During her time at the studio, she served as Head of Movement and Director of the Teen Conservatory. Additional teaching: The University of Vermont Theatre Dept. (Lecturer in Acting), The National Shakespeare Conservatory, The School for Visual Arts, The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts. Performing credits New York: Lincoln Center, Cherry Lane Theatre, Ohio Theatre, Connelly Theatre, and HERE. Regional: Vermont Stage (Nora in A Doll’s House, Part 2), Glimmerglass Opera, KO Festival, Vermont Shakespeare Festival, Gorilla Theatre. As a Director/Choreographer: NYC productions of Richard III, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Julius Caesar, and 11 seasons of Shakespeare in the Park for Vermont Shakespeare Festival. Emeritus member Actor's Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA (2000-2018). Jena will be performing with Middlebury Acting Company this October in the play Admissions by Joshua Harmon.
