Virtual Family Art Saturday

May 23, 2020, 11:00AM

Get creative and make art together at home with Virtual  Family Art Saturday! Join us for this video art activity that connects with our current BCA Center exhibition Apocalypse Diet.

Inspired by Ellie Irons and Anne Percoco’s The Next Epoch Seed Library, BCA teaching artist Jessie Baldwin leads families on a discovery of the beautiful and fascinating nature found in our community. After watching the video and exploring the activity guide, collect objects found in nature to curate your own nature libraries!

Explore and celebrate the local natural world together for a morning of joyful art and fun, and then share your completed projects on BCA Home Studio Facebook Group.

Artists Ellie Irons and Anne Percoco have been working together and creating pop-up seed libraries with an urban weed focus since 2015. NESL is an installation of a small seed library collection that shares alternative, visionary future possibilities for wild plants in the face of dramatic ecological loss. As the seeds are location specific, the 2020 BCA edition holds wild weed seeds from Sears Lane in Burlington, collected in August 2019. Learn more about the artists’ collaborative seed project in the Apocalypse Diet virtual exhibition.

BCA's 2020 exhibition year is presented by Mascoma Bank.
