Intersection of Main Street and Church Street
Burlington is a tapestry of neighborhoods, people, ideas, and cultures, and Block by Block reflects how these communities come together in the way only Vermonters can. Composed of separate abstract forms which reference Burlington's lake, mountains, and skyline, the sculpture illustrates how distinct parts join to create a new, greater, unified whole. Like the city itself, Block by Block celebrates cooperation, diversity, and the shared act of collectively building community. Continuing up Main Street, viewers will discover three smaller companion pieces, expanding the vibrant, interconnected spirit of the work throughout
the whole block.
