Whether inspired by pure joy or genuine despair, CONANT brings depth and honesty to his music. As both a talented musician and lyricist, the Vermont native blends the spirit and tradition of folk with a thoroughly modern style.
CONANT’s musical adventure began with a gift. His wife gave him a banjo so he could play along with friends at gatherings, despite the fact he’d never participated in any musical activity in his life. But his passion for playing and singing was born, and before long he was encouraged to play at open mics. He put together a band and began playing at more and more venues across the state of Vermont. He was inspired to try songwriting and was one of the 2018 Vermont Singer/Songwriter competition finalists. Since then, CONANT has worked with accomplished producer and musician Colin McCaffrey and has produced his debut 2023 EP, Gavia Immer.
Inspired by the music and lyrics of John Prine and Gregrory Alan Isakov, CONANT’s music and performances inspire audiences to step into a familiar world where they can experience joy, loneliness, fear, humor, regret, and hope.
