Summer Concert Series: Dana and Susan Robinson
City Hall Park

Dana and Susan Robinson bring their signature blend of old-time string band music and original songs to Burlington from their home in Cabot, Vermont. Dana Robinson’s music reflects the landscapes and traditions that have shaped his life, blending the expansiveness of the American West, the intimacy of New England, the passion of British balladry, and the grit of Southern Appalachian music. His songwriting combines old-time and country blues influences with folk and rock sensibilities.

Dana’s recent release, The Sound of the Word, offers both a thoughtful reflection on the state of the world and a meditation on rural life. His music has appeared in Ken Burns documentaries, and in 2019 the Times Argus named The Town That Music Saved the Best Album in Vermont. Seven Days described Robinson as “a master storyteller,” while RnR Magazine praised his work as “intimate and personal” with an ultimately hopeful spirit.

A seasonal celebration of Vermont’s incredible musicians, the Summer Concert Series has been serving up a side of local music to downtown Burlington at lunchtime for 14 years.
