The Joshua Glass Trio pairs the soulful songwriting and piano-driven pop of Joshua Glass with the seasoned groove of veteran Burlington musicians Ian Koeller on drums and Brian Maple on guitar. Moving effortlessly between tightly crafted arrangements and spontaneous exploration, the trio blends blues-rock grit with a distinct improvisational edge.
The trio's expansive catalog ranges from hook-filled pop to haunting ballads, anchored by a pop sensibility reminiscent of Allen Toussaint. These performances are tied together by soulful vocals and lyrics that navigate themes of trauma, isolation, and elusive glimmers of hope.
Outside the trio, Glass is a staple of the Vermont music scene, collaborating extensively with acts like Andriana & The Bananas, Ryan Sweezey & The Midnight Walkers, and the Beerworth Sisters. As a performer, his piano style has been called "the aural equivalent of imbibing whiskey" by Seven Days. Together, the trio delivers a high-energy live show rooted in deep groove, genuine chemistry, and a constant musical conversation.
A seasonal celebration of Vermont’s incredible musicians, the Summer Concert Series has been serving up a side of local music to downtown Burlington at lunchtime for 14 years.
