Inspired by Maclurites magnus, a prehistoric freshwater snail once found in the Champlain Valley, Magnus transforms an everyday walkway into a place for gathering and conversation. Carved from Vermont granite, the sculptures draw on the spiral forms of ancient fossils, creating a colony of seating while echoing the stone ornamentation of the surrounding cityscape. This trio of snails reminds us that even an ordinary sidewalk can become a place to slow down, find joy, and appreciate being together
